hosting and domain transfers

one of my friends has registered a domain and i want it, how can i get it without him having to give me his user and pass for the place where he registered it?

Also what site is best for exchange hosting?? i have looked at 1and1, thing is I need the following :-

[email protected], [email protected] - belong to one person

[email protected], [email protected] - belong to one person

^^ is it possible for james to have 1 mailbox and emails from both addresses go to one mailbox and cathy to have the same setup or do I have to have 4 different mailboxes which will probbably cost loads?

ahh right... i read it as you wanted to steal your mates name

just request transfer of it through your chosen registrar (might cost depending on the name) and they will do the rest for you
