Before anyone says, I've read a lot of ocukhostreview already and I'm after some more specific info.

I've set up on my desktop the php and mysql photo album gallery2. Really like it overall and have over 1000 of my photos in it. I'm obviously hosting this so it's crippled by my poor upload speed and god forbid I try to download something from biittorrent.

So what I'm after is something in the cheaper range of hosting but with plenty of space, i.e. currently 1GB but potential when I host my families pics of being up to 5GB say.

I am also not interested in dropping image quality as I would like people to be able to print pics.

So any hosting suggestions or perhaps ways to achieve the same result? I don't really mind hosting the site it's just the bandwidth that is the issue.

I know this seems ridiculous but was hoping for the £2-3 per month range. As Beansprout surmised I'm after cheap and cheerful with disk space rather than bandwidth.

Are there any US ones that fit the bill? As I mentioned, any proper hosting is going to be better than my home hosting can provide.

Again backup wouldn't really be required as I'd certainly have all the photos at home and possibly keep a home copy of the whole gallery. Likewise, availability is not a problem. If my family can't get to view the albums for a couple of days due to the hosting being down, no great loss.

What are other people doing for galleries? I'd really rather not scrimp on which photographs go online as what I find boring my parents might find fascinating etc.

I used it in an entirely different context.

I want quantity rather than quality from a service, I know that's not the norm but it actually suits my requirements to a tee.

Just in case anyone wants the same, I went for Dreamhost in the end.

I used promo code "whcoupons" which got me 20GB disk 1TB transfer (AS IF!!!), 1 free .com registration for a year, unlimited mysql, domains, emails blah blah.

All for the bargain price of $93 for two years or around £55 to you and I.

£2.29 per month, going to host (resell) 2 x 2GB chunks out to work colleagues for a £1 a month each which is a bargain for them and I get hosting for 29p per month.

That's it, I always have all my photos in two or three places, just wanted to share them with family.

I've not got it all set up yet but for a single user at a time (can't ever see it being more than one concurrent) it should be fine with CPU limits. Especially as it's the gallery software they provide by default.
