I'm on the hunt for some good quality webhosting, with the priority features being:
Ideally shared or VDS, as my budget is only up to £25/month.
I've been using Dreamhost for a few months and while their feature set is excellent, speed and reliability is terrible - SSH access in particular is very slow. I did expect as much, but I though I'd give them a shot for the price. I also use clook.net, who are superb, but their VDS offerings are too pricey at this time.
Any suggestions? I've checked the offerings on ochostreview, but nothing jumps out at me as being what I'm after. Does the MediaTemple Grid Service deserve it's bad rep - is it just a shinier DreamHost?
- SSH access and Subversion support is essential (hosting a repository isn't important, just so I can run updates/merges with svn).
- 5-10GB space
- LAMP (PHP5 w/curl and mbstring)
- Preferably UK-based; and in a London datacentre even better.
