I know im probably better off asking on a hosting forum however i cant be bothered singing up atm, im looking to start a forum have just brought my domain, ive seen several forum hosts with limits on the online users available, if i choose normal hosting would it still allow me to have a website or would it be slow and users would be limited?

For a small forum you should be able to get away with using a shared hosting account.

try www.vidahost.com I am currently running a forum on there that has 7,200 members, usually has between 150-300 at any one time and the database size is creeping up to about 300mb ... and my hosting package has never put a foot wrong! Also get lightning quick speeds to their UK based servers
