Hot CPU!

I overclocked my E8400 to 3.6GHz when doing nothing it seems to switch between a multipier of 6 and 9 changing the speed every 5 seconds or so is this normal. But when i ran orthos after about 2 minutes the temperatures reached about 92 degrees, surely this cant be a normal temp? Also the stock fan seems to be running slow how fast should it be spinning its about 800RPM atm.

As soon as i saw it running that hot i turned everything off and opened it up, ill try turning speed step off and reseating the cooler, thanks. I can fit a new cooler in got any suggestions of a good one?

I might go for that and some thermal compound will this drastically reduce the heat and will it allow me to push it to 4GHz?

Using Speed fan the temperature of the case was around 26 degrees the cpu was 90 and the both cores were about 95 or so. Ok i think i will get the artic 7, will i be able to OC to 4GHz within safe temperatures? Also does disabling speedstep shorten the lifespan of the cpu?

The Vcore is at 1.30V and the temps at normal after two minutes of orthos get to 60 degrees.
