Hot hot Intel Week 4 Roadmap

Source please.

I have the roadmaps, give it a few days I'm sure they will be leaked onto the web.

I might post some screen shots later.

but does anyone know whether there will also be some new Motherboards released around about the Intel's 6 core gulftown release time with full support for gulftown in the box???

Some manufacturers have already made thier BIOSs ready for Gulftown and as such all thier boards being shipped from the factories are gulftown ready.

If true, the core i7 930 will probably be the last quad core released at the high end, from now on it will be hex cores.

It looks that way yes.

Hmmm... this looks interesting. An affordable hex-core i7.

Are programs and games even utilising quad-core CPU's though? I don't want to waste my money on a hex-core when it's way ahead of it's time!

It looks like LGA1366 and LGA1156 will run along side each other for at least the next year anyway. I never really liked having two seperate sockets/chipsets that perform so similarly, even with all their weird and wonderful differences (QPI/DMI, tri-channel 1066/dual-channel 1333 DDR3, x16 PCI-E/x8 PCI-E SLI etc. etc.).

I guess this puts the x58 ahead ever so slightly. I presume the i7-970 will be 32nm like the i7-980XE? I'm building a PC in the next 6-8 weeks so still not sure what CPU I want, even the 32nm dual-core i5's are great! Intel what have you done?! :D

Yeah, I think I'm going to get a i7-930 to keep me going for the meantime and then upgrade to the hex-core i7-970 when I can afford it. Being 32nm, I wonder what a water-cooled 970 will OC to, especially since it's stock clock is 3.2GHz...

I wouldn't mind running a 5GHz hex-core CPU before the end of the year! :D
