Satusing my pc today could smell burning, you know that electrical burning smell so I opend the side of my case to see if it was from my pc or outside as I have the door open

OMG!! smoke bellowed out loads of it, I pulled the psu wire out and started to investigate..

After finding the yellow wire of 3 my new yate loons melted i saw the problem, my Revoltec uv cathode had caused all the problem

look at this

Now I have 6 of these cathodes and I am going to have to take them all out as that could have been my whole rig up in smoke

the worst of it is i never have my rig on all night, but last night for the first time i left it on downloading top gear.
whilst installing my new e6850 I realised the cathode was switched off so I switched it on.

never again

now i need to rewire 3 bloody fans grrrrr

edit: some Idiots cant understand my typing although i dont fess to be an english teacher or anything i thought id help those who have difficutly with english more than me.

You write terrible English. Have you got an excuse?

You have no contribution and are a tit, any excuse?

As for the topic... What exactly happend? Did it burn through some other wires, or did it overload the amperage of the wires?

His English is perfectly understandable.

This is why I don't have any cathodes in my case, I've head about this sort of thing occurring before.

Get the hell out of the thread if you don't have anything on topic to say. I (and many others it seems) can understand him just fine.

Back on topic, I seem to remember this is sometimes happens when using cathodes?

I take it that the wire was overloaded, heated up and burnt it'self, as opposed to it sitting against the wire and cooking/melting it.

I'm glad I have no lights in my case :)
