Getting a Thrustmaster HOTAS X tomorrow for Elite.

Can anyone recommend any other games for it?

Obviously there is MS Flight Sim.. What else though?

Cheers.

I'd hold off on Star Citizen until it's further along, which might seem a bit odd coming from me, but IL2/Xplane/DCS are done, out there and ready to play.

DCS World on Steam is amazing, since I installed it last week I've not been interested in anything else. Seeing it's free and includes 2 planes, has lots of tutorials, lots of single missions and a campaign mode for the SU25, it's a no brainer.

War Thunder is apparently good for sticks if you play the more serious (as in, not arcade) modes. Free too, and quite unbelievably addictive.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I bought Cliffs of Dover when it came out but it was a bit of a duffer, maybe it's better now... I can see that IL2 1946 is in the Humble Store sale so will grab that - that's a good shout as is DCS thanks.

I'll also have a look at the other suggestions.

VR headset is way out of my budget I'm afraid :p On a similar note I just bought "facetracknoir" as apparently you can use it plus a webcam with flying / driving games (also got a wheel being delivered tomorrow! :))

Just bought and am downloading Project Cars and reading from this guide if anyone is interested

£130 no bids, 3 days left for a DK2. i know i know its a little old now but its a thought. It really is amazing

if it lasts you a year or whatever it may be worth it?

£130 is more realistic at the moment at least ;)

The head tracking software is working remarkably well with my modest Logitech 510 webcam... Just tried it in Project Cars and DCS (with 360 pad until tomorrow!).

haha that looks pretty nifty, just seen a video with amplified movement (was wondering how this would work) so he can turn a bit, still see the screen and rotate/zoom/lean freely. Not bad for zero outlay !

If you still have Cliffs of Dover, get Team Fusion mod for it, it transforms the sim and will be improved upon, free as well.

Did anyone mention Rise of Flight? thats free as a core WW1 flight sim too with two or three aircraft to get you going and lots of DLC, would recommend WoFF UE as well if you like WW1, not free but outstanding, 25% off just now as well I think.

Yes I bought CofD on Steam so it's still sat there. I will check out Team Fusion thanks. Interesting last news post that Team Fusion will be properly incorporated into Steam following a change in ownership of the game. Sounds like good news...

That WoFF UE I had to Google. It's not on Steam that I can see and seems expensive (about 48 dollars). Info a little thin on the ground on this one, you rate it though right..

May have to grab it...

Depends what you're after. I will obviously always recommend Falcon BMS, but then I've been a part of that community for nearly 19 years! :D Still the most detailed F-16 sim and has a daynamic campaign, not just scripted missions. Looks a little dated compared to DCS, but it's seriously impressive to look at considering that the original release in 1998 was DX6!

The original game is less than a fiver now and the BMS mod is free ;)

Also, as said above, if you're going to playing E:D a lot, I hear VR is a must have for that. Never played it myself, but I really should give it a go one day.
