Hi

Taking the Mrs to watch Moto GP at Silverstone in August. Need to book a hotel for a couple of nights as she isn't keen on camping.... Anyone got any recommendations? We will be driving to and from the circuit each day so don't want to be ages away. Thanks.

I'm going to the Moto GP this year and I went last year too. But camping. I can't help you much with hotels but I noticed last year that hotel prices are extortionate even within a 20-30 mile radius. Hopefully you have a luck finding one at a good price. Enjoy!

I know they have glamping for F1 weekends, do they do that for Moto GP? She might go for that as I managed to convince my wife that the tents are a bit more robust than normal tents, have power for hair straighteners(seems a life or death thing for my wife) and you have an area where you can eat a nice cooked breakfast as part of the stay. I know what hotels are like, any hint of a nearby event and the prices fluctuate wildly.

Can I suggest the Old Dairy at Boycott Farm, Stowe? It’s a converted cattle shed next to an up-market farm shop that does breakfast, lunch and early dinners. It’s holiday cottages but you can treat it like a hotel. £100-ish per night but don’t tell the owner (Richard) that you’re going to Silverstone. Tell him you want to see historic Milton Keynes or something.

Much better than the A43 Premier Inn and you’re literally 5 minutes up the road from the other side of the A43 entrance, so there is VERY light traffic and you can walk it in 25 minutes.

Depending on how far you want to go, there’s a Holiday Inn (I believe) on the A43. There’s a pub right next to it so you can get some decent food, The Green Man off the top of my head.
Stayed there a few years ago (Premier Inn), not a bad hotel and about as close as you can reasonably get without camping inside.

I haven't stayed anywhere else, so take this with a pinch of salt.
