Help! Trying to RDP to one of our EC2 instances but my IP changes within seconds of setting it within the AWS control panel (we have a policy which means we only permit whitelisted IPs).

Is there anything I can do to force my laptop to retain an IP?

Only option I seem to have at the moment is to make the RDP port public but would be in breach of IT controls + I'm currently sat somewhere in the middle east so would prefer not to do that anyway.

Any and all advice welcome :)

Need a VPN or some other secure tunnel via a proxy so the end point sees the proxy IP only - should be using one really I'd have thought for remoting in for work purposes anyhow. Odd the IP changes that quickly though it would mess most things up.

It's probably load balancing over a bunch of broadband connections and different connections are being sent out different links.

Another vote for VPN, surprised your company doesn't have one? I wouldn't be connected to anything work related without it especially on hotel or public wifi. It might be against your IT policy too.
