Hotels in Rome? (Question/Advice)

The girlfriend and I are organising a hop into europe and are staying in Rome for seven nights in July, from the 12th to the 19th.

We're on a budget of approx. 320 quid and we dont want to be 12 miles outside of Rome either (unless there is free shuttle buses, etc).

Any suggestions for decent places to stay? Anything 2 star and above is fine.

Have a look on the Ryanair site that leads you to the hotels. We stayed in a hotel about a mile from the Piazza Popolo that we walked or grabbed a tram to down Via Flaminia, cost us about £250 for the week. Cant remember the name of the hotel unfortunately.

Stayed here last time I was in Rome - 5 mins walk from the Colloseum. Gorgeous place (roof-top terrace for breakfast, candle-lit at night) but might be too pricey?

Perfectly decent place with clean rooms, good breakfast in the roof garden and literally 50 yards from the Trevi Fountain so very central.

My two other tips are to get a 3-day bus pass for getting around the city, as they're dirt cheap and allow a full day for St. Peter's and the Vatican.
