Any recomendenations for hotels in the centre of York for around £100 per night or less?

queen's hotel , nothing special but clean and centrally located but there really isn't anything special in York without paying daft money

ramada encore and the moat house both fit your bill too

I was looking at the Queens, Their website was slighty off-putting with the dodgy music

but being right on the river seemed a big plus!

it's perfectly acceptable , reception is shabby but the rooms are ok and the location perfect
