Why is it so frowned upon? I know it is "stealing" bandwidth but it cant really be that bad?

1. Costs the person/host extra money they may not have allowed for.
2. Image can change at any time to ummm... something not nice

3. Can end up in broken links saying "Hotlinking not allowed". Which are annoying.
