Hotmail email settings...

Does anyone know the settings for setting up hotmail as an email account on a phone? I just need the server type (pop3/imap4) incoming server and outgoing server. Ive tried

pop3
pop3.live.com
smtp.live.com

but had no luck, does anyone know the correct settings, or if these are correct and it's just not having it.

Also, Ive read somewhere that hotmail no longer supports pop3, which could be the problem, does anyone know if this is true?

Dont you need to pay for that? Inless you use an addon for outlook

I'm using:

pop3.live.com on port 995 to pick up my emails from my gmail account (i'm not paying for this service).

Not sure about outgoing as i'm sending from my gmail account.

last time i looked at this (years ago) there wernt any settings because it was all HTTP based, but I assume it must have changed to meet gmail etc?

If so then outgoing is usually smtp.something.com or something along them lines, or at least it is with ISP's etc

so going by the incomming mail server's posted above I'd have a guess and say:

incomming: pop3.live.com
outgoing: smtp.live.com

I didnt think you could do this with Hotmail anymore, unless on windows mobile ofc... Im probably wrong however..

well a few months ago hotmail allowed people to get hotmail via pop3. it could be you need to make sure your SSL settings are correct?

i just put these in my iphone (got today, so noob), with email and password details, and its working.
