Hotmail integration on Android

A friend is upgrading to her first smartphone, my old Nexus One. She is pretty integrated into Hotmail services at the moment so I wanted to know how good the Hotmail experience is on Android? E.g
Do the contacts sync with the phone well via the Hotmail Ap?
Does Skydrive, calendar etc work well?

What's the best way to get her contacts from her old Nokia Express Music to either Hotmail or Google.
