Hotmail problems

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me out on this. I've recently built myself a new pc and installed windows 7 and everything runs great on it and there's no internet issues, but for some reason hotmail is very very slow. Sometimes it takes minutes to open a folder such as inbox, junk etc. It often times out as well giving me the following message "We can't connect to Hotmail at the moment. Please make sure that you're connected to the Internet and try again"

I know my internet speed is fine as no other site has issues. I've also triied accessing hotmail from both firefox and internet explorer, and it's equally slow on both. I can access emails instantly on my old laptop or iphone, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Can anyone point me in the right direction please. I've had a look around google, but not been able to find a possible cause or solution.

I've tried everything I can think of so far and made no progress at all. I think I'll just have to try and put up with it for now as well, cause I've run out of ideas. Just seems crazy that I spent a couple of grand on a pc and it struggles to open an email.

Just thought I would give an update to this post as I finally managed to solve the issue, and maybe it'll help someone else with the same problem.

I gave up on trying to access hotmail on my pc and started using windows live mail for my emails instead, so I thought that was a good enough fix. But then I tried to access another website for the first time on this new pc, that I use for an online accounting course, and couldn't get into that either. As there was no workaround for this, I did a repair install of windows 7 and that fixed everything.

To pinpoint what caused it, I checked everytime I reinstalled one of the drivers and managed to pinpoint it down to one of the applications in the Asus ai suite II. There's a program called Network iControl and that's what was causing all the problems.

Wish I'd just saved a lot of time and did the windows repair install to begin with, I didn't realise how little hassle it was.
