Hmm... I wouldn't like an address as similar as that TBH as it just takes a simple mistake to not receive an email. Afaik Google doesn't allow very similar addresses to help minimise this problem

Lol, you probably don't need the extras, but it is now gmail that is inferior.
These things always go round in circles, you get a dominate market, get complacent. Someone else pops back up with something way better and then the other company has to react or fall behind.

I would imagine your Google Apps alternative is Office 365. I can't see them offering too many advantages with outlook.com as it will be rendering its professional solution useless.

Why on earth do people want [email protected]. You will be spammed senses. What do you think people use when they need an email address.

Although I can't be bothered to even type that much, if any one has [email protected], then they deserve to be spammed for not seeing the issue.

Got firstnamelastname now which is good as with Live I was forced to have firstnamelastname and then a number which doesn't look brilliant on documents etc.

I'm only using email on Google apps as I don't like the interfaces of the document apps for some reason... I have since found Skydrive much better for my needs and more space (25GB). I am hoping the integration with Windows 8 will be good.

Annoyingly I went and registered with my syandard email, then discovered I could just register an alias in hotmail. FFS, now I cannot do this as it is already taken. DAMMIT. I hope they bring an option in for this.
