Hotspot Question

I used the hotspot function on my iPhone yesterday for the first time with my laptop and it worked a treat!

I have a question though regarding the laptops priority network choice. I want the laptop to forget the iPhone hotspot and join my home network when I arrive back from work, can it do this automatically?

I guess the same will apply when I get the new iPad today (I'm in Aus).

Sure, you just need to make sure the priorities are set right.

If it's Win7, open the Start menu and type 'manage wireless networks'. In that window you can reorder the networks as you wish.

If it's OS X, click on the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar, choose 'open network preferences' and click 'advanced' - then you can reorder the list.

I wouldn't leave the iPhone hotspot feature on all the time, though - it drains the battery. In fact, I think it turns itself off automatically after a few minutes of non-use.
