House budget/calender software?

Me and the girlfriend are planning to move out of home sometime soon, and I was wondering if there is a program which would allow us to plan budgets as well as having a calender built in?

Preferably free, just wondering if anyone has recommendations for a nice streamlined bit of software which includes both

I've never really found one that really works, a lot of the mainstream seem orientated to the U.S.

I simply use a spreadsheet to monitor in/outgoings.
