House insurance claim query?

Good evening guys,

I have a question with regards to house insurance.

My washing machine has leaked today from the back and the water got underneath my Lino flooring. It has caused bubbling underneath and my dog has torn a large hole in it. It stunk of damp in this heat so I ripped most of it up as it was causing a tripping hazard and was dangerous for my wife and child. Fortunately my friend was round with his van and he took the flooring to the tip for me. However after telling my father over the phone he has told me I should shouldn't have done this and should have kept it. It is too late now but the fridge and the dishwasher still has lino underneath.

My question is do you think that when I phone my home insurance provider tomorrow that they will be understanding and will be able to process my claim?

If not should I handle the situation any different because I have thrown half of the evidence away. I still have my receipt from when my Lino was fitted 6 months ago.

I am with Barclays insurance and can't exactly remember what my excess is if any at all and I will be phoning them first thing in the morning.

Thanks for your advice,

Oh i saw your second post where you are talking about insurance fraud, and posting it online, this isn't likely to go well for you now.

Have you accidental cover as part of your policy?

Woahhhhhh no you must have misunderstood. I'm not trying to commit fraud by faking a claim. I am going to link the two separate incidents at once, or was wondering if I could. Or would two claims needs to be completely separate resulting into two excess's being paid?
