House of the Dead Overkill

Got this yesterday, and it's utterly awesome. Short, yes, but my god it's packed with style. Possibly one of the most 18-rated games I've played*. The graphics aren't great in all honesty, but I personally think that adds to the budget-looking charm of the grindhouse theme, and I never felt they detracted from it. Gunning down zombies is still a ton of fun, and although the cursor does lag a tiny amount, you get used to it almost instantly.

Every level also has an "extra mutants" and then a harder difficulty mode to it, plus there's the challenge of beating the high scores and finding all the hidden brain icons in each level. Then there's a handful of four-player mini-games that could well be a good laugh too. Personally I think it's great, and one of the best games I've played on the Wii for some time.

As for the 1:1 aiming issue, there's an aim calibration thing in the options. I've not tried it yet myself, as I've not got the gun attachments, and me and my friend just aim from the hip, but I'd imagine that could quite easily be used to get perfect aiming.

*"What does a brother have to do to pacify a *****?"
