House Water Pumps

We would like an unvented cylinder but I am afraid the cold feed is not 22mm so looking to replace existing tank with a std tank and install a whole house pump as the hot water pressure is poor.

Anyone have any experience of these pumps and if so are they reasonably quiet?

dont know much about pumps but they are very noisy

That is a pain, would not work here as the shift worker in the house would wake everyone else. What sort of pump do you have?

Makes sense, also been talking to one of the pump providers that make, apparently, a really quiet pump. I'll feedback when all the work is completed.

We have a pump fitted but only need it for showers so just switch it on for that. First one died after 6 or 7 years, but the identical replacement was fitted by a much more competent plumber. We didn't realise that the first was wrongly fitted until the second guy showed us all the rubber stand offs after we asked whether it was running ok. The difference in noise level was night and day.

Interesting as our exiting shower pump makes a hell of racket as well.

Thinking more positive about pumps now as the pressure for unvented tank is too low.
