Ok first things first, I'll get to my main point of this topic and then I shall go into further details.

Firstly, spec'ed this computer up yesterday, ordered the parts, parts arrived today all sound. Put her all together, nice a neatly came home, fired her up, all sounds fine but nothing displays on the screen.

Here is the spec we ordered:

I've tried the following:
Using the RAM from my PC which is the exact same as the new ones.
Using my graphics card (x1650xt) with the new PC.
Using my processor (e6300) with the new PC.

I've noticed that the new dvd writer is sata powered, could this be a problem?

Next, my gut feeling is that it could be the motherboard is faulty... Which I really hope it isn't but it may be the cold truth.

Also, when we power up the new pc with all the components we ordered, no power seems to be going to the keyboard/mouse however the fans of the heatsink, graphics card and case fan are all spinning nicely (there must be power to the mobo).

So yeah, to conclude this topic my initial problem is that when I power up the freshly built PC, nothing is showing on screen, it's just black and says there is no signal. However in detail everything looks fine, related to the computer.

Thanks guys - Hopefully you know better than I, as I have spent 7 hours of today staring into this case trying to figure the problem!

Kind regards,
Dharok.

Hi only things I can think of is try clearing the CMOS, make sure all cables are connected including the 4 or 8 pin power by the CPU.

as above, try clearing bios, and make sure all power connectors are hooked up, with particular focus on the one for the graphics card. Hvae you tried taking the graphics card out and reseating it?

Now I feel like a complete idiot! And I knew this would happen, a new set of eyes sees new things!
You were completely right of course, NO power to the CPU will not help will it!

Thanks RJC.

Now lets try that initial ' Fire-up' again. Will keep you posted.

Regards
Dharok
