Hi.
this is a 2 pronged discussion.

I am hovering over buying a meta quest pro on eBay. I have been counter offered a £750 for opened never used one.

1). is there any risk buying these? it says covered by eBay buyer protection so I assume if it does not turn up I will be ok.... I remember claims of people having their meta accounts locked due to stolen devices. would eBay still cover on buyer protection if you were sold a stolen product.

2) am I being realistic on by valuations. I was thinking I could sell my barely used 64gb oculus quest 2 for £200 complete with upgraded head mount and VR cover gasket. and I could also sell my rever G2 version 1 with new cable as well as the VR cover to increase FOV for £300

on top of this inwas thinking I would set the quest pro in my wife's name and then get us both £23 of store credit.

am I being realistic on all of this?
thanks

It's up to you if you want to take the risk. Meta have banned the accounts for some people picking these up cheap - I've only heard of a few cases but it HAS happened.

Is it worth the risk of saving £250 in case your account is banned, or the device is faulty and Meta won't honor the warranty? However Ebay buyer protection normally does side with the buyer. It's up to you.

And yes you possibly could setup a meta account for your Wife and get the referral. Why didn't I do that when I got my Pro? DOH!
