How about this for a CPU overclock?

A 1.6Ghz E2140 with a massive 2Ghz overclock. 125%!!!! Quite chuffed actually. 1.472v vcore is a bit much but it was only to carry out some benchies to update my E5200 thread. Did'nt crash once. Temps were getting a bit high under Linx stress testing but not too bad. 62 degrees is very high for my water cooling rig though. It would'nt have done it on air. The best thing is that it only cost me £18 off the bay a couple of months ago.

Wow that's a great clock, congrats! And 1.472V aint too much, that's a 65nm chip, you can pummel it with volts.

Thats an embarrisingly high overclock! But not as bad as using xp and not having winrar installed

Far Cry, in fact most of the games you see there, are installed just for benching to update my E5200 thread with full E2140 and E8500 benchies. Anybody can just look at it now and see if the upgrade they were thinking of is worth it over what they already have. Well, dual core anyway as it will now cover E2000/E4000/E5000/E6000/E8000 series cpu's.

Anyway, the original Far Cry is far superior to the pathetically poor Far Cry 2. I have never played such a boring repetetive game in my life. Gave up after 50%.

Winrar is installed by the way. Just because there's no shortcut on the desktop does'nt mean it's not on the pc.

Impressive overclock mate, i take my hat off to you (if I had a hat on to take off that is). My computer is terrible at overclocking, Fails to boot atm with a minor OC. The maximum stable I've got to is 3.2Ghz

(And that's with a native 3Ghz CPU!)

Doesn't matter whats on or off the computer, the main thing is the overclock.

Did'nt try. I ran Linx and it then did several hours of benching without crashing. It's out of the pc now and replaced with the Wolfie. Updated my E5200 thread for the last time.

What board do you have, seems really strange as even the bad Q9650s should hit 4ghz with minimum effort.

I have taken the poor little thing out now and replaced it with my Wolfie again. Poor thing probably did'nt know what hit it. Punched a long way above it's weight though.

I reckon it would do more. Maybe 4Ghz even. It seems to love fsb. 450mhz compared to my E5200 that hates anything above 300!! I am not trying for any more in my rig. I have never seen anything hit 62 degrees with my watercooling setup before. My E8500 only hit's 42 degree's under load. Anyway it's back in it's box now while i decide what to do with it.
