How accurate on the E46

Is this "miles left" indicator?

Just wondered as it seems to trip on when it's still indicating 70-odd miles left!

Not hugely accurate at all, they never are in any car from what I've found.

I can do at least 30 miles (if not closer to 60) when the trip computer says 0 miles.

Also depends on how you alter your driving style whilst closing in on running out of petrol. Most people will start to slow as it gets lower and hence you suddenly have more miles left from the tank. Trip computer needs to catch up. Can have bit of an effect.
