how active is guild wars nightfall?

Just wondering, since i want to get back into guild wars, but Prophecies is pretty empty now and factions wasent as good, how active is nightfall currently?

All three campaigns are still very active. Although you may struggle to find enough people for a complete group of eight later on in Factions, but that's easily solved by using the Heroes from Nightfall.

If you get it, give us a shout or post on our forums, link under my sig, and I'll invite you to The Godless, that way you can just holla for help and if we're sober, or possibly not, you can get some help.

I stopped playing Guild Wars about 5 days of buying nightfall, I got stuck on a quest and it was so hard to find people willing to go on a quest with you.

I cant remember it was that long ago :eek:

, the other main reason I stopped was because of super long loading times and stuttering all the time, but I dont think thats going to be a problem with the rig I have now, I might start playing again tonight, just hope my account is still there.

First thing you should do is this, add -image after your shortcut like this :-

"D:\Games\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

Obviously changing it to your location, then run the game. It'll download and decompress all the game data which cuts out the need for you to wait for the load/decmpress ingame.

*important* After everything has downloaded/decompressed remove the -image switch and start the game as normal. If you don't remove it the game won't run. A word of warning though, it may take a while as there've been a few updates since you last played.

Nightfall is still very active, I'm just powering through all the side quests at the moment after (finally) completing it last week.
Think I'll take this char over to Propechies soon and work through that before I get Factions, now that it's only a tenner I'll definately be buying it.

On a side note... Curse my lack of gold.

Edit: Also, any chance I could get re-invited to Guild Azagoth? I left previously because my old flat had no internet connection. No such problems anymore!

Think I'll ignore my previous plans and go out and get Factions today, I'm in a Guild Wars mood tonight.
Better now that I'm in The Godless, an active guild makes it much more interesting.

I've got a 14 day trial for Nightfall from a PC Mag so I'm gonna install that and give it a bash this weekend. Might see some of you on there.

i just completed nightfall, took me 30 hours with heroes + henchman only, so a pretty short and easy game tbh but still worth it, was enjoyable, and every town i went in seemed full so i guess its fairly active. altho every town in prophecies still seems full.lol
only thing about nightfall is it made me hate factions even more, cos i quit gw when factions preview weekend was on cos i saw how badly it would ruin the game, especially pvp, and it completely destroyed pvp.lol but crawled back to gw 18 months later due to lack of any other decent game for when im bored.lol

does the ocuk guild do a lot of pvp or is it more pve based? cos im currently in top50 american guild but get bored if im on during the day cos obviously i only play with them early hours of morning so if any of you need any help on prophecies or nightfall (cos i refuse to play factions.lol) or need a guest for gvg, then give us a pm

Sorry for the minor de-rail but im about to purchase a laptop (sold my desktop) as im missing things like eq and guild wars. I`m wondering how well guild wars is likely to run on a lappy with a 8600m GT 512mb card ?

I`m torn ya see, a new desktop for the same money gets me a c2d system with an 8800 gtx :-)
