I havent played it for about a year, but im thinking about installing it again, i really enjoyed it then and have a level 20 character, also had about 300k gold or something. But is there anyone playing it anymore? I have factions also but i hated it, turned a great game into some strange chinese world or something.

So is anyone playing the first game at all?

Still are a fair few people playing prophecies, although on some of the group levels you might find it tough to find a full team outside of evenings and weekends.

My advice would be to pick up a copy of Nightfall, the storyline is much much better than Factions and more in the Prophecies vein. Plus thats where most players are so you'll have no problems finding people to play with.

Plus you get the extras from Nightfall such as the hero characters, which are a huge bonus to solo play.

The majority of players who have finished Nightfall are heading into the Domain of Anguish. Those players who are bored there, or dont like the constant wave after wave of high level enemies are heading back to Prophecies to complete the game with characters from the new Nightfall campaign.

Also, the last release for the original Guildwars before ANet start working in Guildwars 2 is Eye of the North, and is due for release the final quarter of this year. Although not directly linked to Prophecies, the storyline is going to be linked to it.

I really enjoyed working my way through Prophecies and I'm now well into Factions and to be honest I cant tell much of a difference! (a lot of people have said how rubbish Faction was in comparison but I just dont see it - its basically more of the same!)
Looking forward to Nightfall but I think I'll get Factions out of the way first! :D

Factions felt too claustrophobic for me, all those dark and dingy temples, i much preferred the freedom of movement and scenery that Proph and Nightfall offer.

A lot of people didn't like the faction system, forcing guilds to choose one of the two, the most annoying thing for me was that being in the godless forced me to do the gayla hatchery mission, which is an absolute beast even with a good team :p before people realised the back route it was even harder, i remember trying it about 5 times before completion with my ritualist.

Really? I found this to be a relatively easy mission, and often ran guild members through it. Arborstone on the other hand proved a little awkward for my Ele as trying to cast vast amounts of fire spells without getting trounced by the falling cathedral wasnt too easy.

Its easier now people know the back route to kill the mobs without taking the turtles, but to get master on it just after release was tough, only took one member of your team to drop out and it makes it very difficult, usually needed one monk to heal the party and another to heal the turtles. I'm sure in a good well balanced team it gets easy but in your average PUG it wasn't :p
