I have a select group of friends maybe of 4/5, I meet new people on some occasions yet I keep them at a distance and just keep the chit chat formal.

I'm a bubbly person, although it's only with my close ones. I guess I'm used to keeping a low profile after having some bad experiences with people. Is it good to stick out like a thorn and know the whole world, or is having a select few near by a better option?

Just a curiosity in me and I want to know your opinions.

Depends entirely on the situation. I can talk to anyone given the right circumstances but some people I just don't click with and find it very hard to make small talk with.

If everyone in the world just tried to make their own little part of the world alright, instead of worrying about other peoples lives...there would be less hassle and more happiness :)

I probably come over as very anti-social. I enjoy meeting new people, and if I get on with them then I'm very social and out-going. However, I just can't seem to make any effort at all with people I don't really like. I absolutely hate small talk with people I don't click with and will usually just clam up. Unfortunately, I click with very few people :p

On my nights in, I do tend to play computer games, but I'll always go out twice a week with mates, have a laugh in the office and go out with the office buddies if they're arranging something. Go and see my old folks from time to time too.

In 2006 though, I was very antisocial with the whole vanilla WoW thing. Blizzard ruining the game in 2007 with the Burning Crusade was a blessing in disguise.

I am very anti-social. Without going to deep. I have no friends and never go out and have little interest in making new friends. I could probably make some friends if i put some effort in to it. The people i grew up with in SA I have not contacted them in years and as I don't have any online presence I am not contactable. I think at some point it might bother me enough to put some effort it but I have got used to it now and just go to work and do my own thing in my spare time.

I'm not THAT anti-social it's just that I'm usually too lazy to go out with people (Something I think I should work on soon :p) and so spent most of my time on my own in my room on the internets. I can talk to new people for a little while though, albeit slightly uncomfortably, until the conversation hits a brick wall about 10 minutes in and they walk off to talk to someone else.

Define social. If somebody is an ******* I'll be as antisocial as Anthrax. If they're nice, I'll be the personification of a socialite. Surely that's what it comes down to? :/

I wouldn't even define it with that.

The definition of Anti-Social to me is that, you just don't talk/or limit yourself talking to anyone. Whether they're good/bad/ugly/pretty etc.

I have this brick wall I really need to speak to.

Anyway - to me anti-social is chucking bricks through peoples windows etc. I'm not at all anti-social.

I may be a social antithesis however.

That's your definition though. If person A finds person B interesting they will talk to them. If they don't they won't. It's like the retarded 'ten myths about introverts' thread that came up a week ago.
