How are C2D's in single core games?

In games which dont support dual cores, how would my E6400 at stock (2.13ghz) compare to say a pentium 4? Because games may say things like reccomended specs are 3ghz pentium 4, does my e6400 compare to that in single core mode?

Also i have one more question, it isnt exactly about C2D's. But when im setting a resolution in game, there are 2 choices, 1440x900x16 and 1440x900x32. What are the last numbers? I think there something to do with colour, do they actually have any noticeable visual differences or performance hits?

dont worry lol, as you can see i have an 8800GTS 640mb so ill stick with 32bit, i was just wondering.
