How are companies allowed to keep calling their defibrillators iPADs?

They've probably decided no one is going to confuse the two and it would look pretty rough if they start going around suing companies due to the naming of their life saving devices. That's if they're even aware they exist.

it's possible that thoose devices were called ipads before apple came out with them. yes apple have the trademark; but it's possible that it's not in their best interest to poke the nest especially due to the nature of the device.

This, Not every giant company gets their way with copyrights etc.. a good example, has anyone looked at www.nike.co.uk recently? The domain is owned by an old customer of mine (Mary Nike), she's held onto it for years and years, Nike tried to buy it, forcibly take it and eventually just gave up trying.

Even if copyright isn't perused and everyone is happy with their chosen name... Thats a terrible product name...

If someone told me to "grab the Ipad..." or anyone under the age of 50.... you would probably waste 30seconds having a really bizarre conversation about what the hell is an ipad going to do in this situation :P

Nobody is going to confuse an "intelligent Public Access Defibrillator" with an Apple iPad and it's not a good look to go harassing companies making life saving medical devices about what they call the devices.

Respect I think I would have cashed that one in it must be worth a significant sum to Nike.

Yep, and she was offered mega money during the height of the .com bubble, I always check it once in a while and always smile to see she's stayed strong!

Nice nest egg though
I would have sold it for a small fee plus a small percentage of all sales via the site for an unlimited time period, place it in a trust and live it large. lol
