Hey guys

Just wondered how peoples DGM IPS-2701WPH screens are?

I was going to order 3 achieva shimians so wanted to know which is a better choice...

Thanks guys!

Remember that if you order the Korean monitors that only have a DVI connection it gets more complicated to connect them to a HD 5850.

You'd need a DisplayPort to dual link DVI adapter at ~ £75.

With the DGM you can connect two to dual link DVI and the third with DisplayPort.

There also seem to be some compatibility issues with the HD 5850.

Gaming performance with a single HD 5850 over three 2560x1440 screens is going to be poor if that's your intention.

Here are mine:

ah they look great,

I havent updated my sig yet but i have a gtx 670 now, which im sure will be fine. I will only game on 1 of them, 3 is for general usage

how are they for gaming? i heard they have a lot of lag with all the extra inputs over the Koreans?

Note that those are replacement stands in the picture.

I haven't had much time for gaming.

DGM IPS-2701WPH Review

Class 1) Less than 16ms / 1 frame lag - should be fine for gamers, even at high levels

Class 2) A lag of 16 - 32ms / One to two frames - moderate lag but should be fine for many gamers. Caution advised for serious gaming and FPS

Class 3) A lag of more than 32ms / more than 2 frames - Some noticeable lag in daily usage, not suitable for high end gaming

The DGM IPS-2701WPH showed an average display input lag of 28ms during this test, ranging up to 30ms maximum. This was not too severe, but a bit higher than we had seen from some other recent screens, and represented a lag of close to 2 frames. The lag of this screen has been categorised as CLASS 2 as detailed above.

Edit:

Don't forget that you also get a three year warranty with OcUK instead of having to send your monitor back to Korea.

i think it will be fine for me then, i play BF3 and WoW so only 1 FPS game.

cant decide if i have space for 3, might go with 2 and add a 3rd if i like them

out of interest, how are they for xbox 360? i play most of my fps games on there over HDMI

If it's any help the 3 in my picture stretch to ~1.75m wide.

hmm i dont have a desk that big at home but do at uni so i might grab a 3rd after xmas assuming they are still around. I can fit them on the desk but they would sit infront of my speakers which would screw the sound up : /

Thanks for the help, just need some insight into using them with an xbox, couldnt see anything in that big thread related to it...

Can't help with the Xbox thing I'm afraid.

As you can see the replacement stands I'm using lift the monitors much higher so my speakers fit under without being blocked.

The stand they're supplied with sits them far too low for my liking.

yea im look into a vesa mount for them if i feel it causes an issue, my speakers are studio monitors though so they are significantly larger and i dont want obstruction in front of them.

Im pretty sold on these apart from the lack of info on how the xbox is on them.

Few random thoughts, what effect is the screen? matte? glassy? and how is the tacky looking leather back?

The screen is glossy.

This gives a nice image but could cause problems with reflections depending on your room layout and lighting.

The "leather back" is just textured plastic.

It doesn't make any odds to me as I never see it.
