how are the new Quad cores overclocking ? genral feedback

with me having to read a 100`s of posts how are the new Quad cores at overclocking ??

whats would would the Q6600 overclock to with a top motherbard and cooler ?

Most will do 3.5ghz. But their load temps are restricting them somewhat.

I've just got a Q6600 and within a hour it was running at 3.6gig

Thats on air with a P5B deluxe and some cheap Ballistix 5300. They do run hot though

Am I right in thinking that all new Intel chips coming out in a few weeks time will all use the new Go stepping for improved cooling etc ?

1.35v in bios but cpuz and coretemp report 1.21v :eek:

You're in all likelyhood throttling that CPU if the internal temps are that high.

Wait for a G0 quad, it'll run faster and cooler!

Trust me! XS has a few sat at 4Ghz in hot ambiant temps yet there running cool all on air!

Mind OCUK will not get them for ages, that you can defo trust me on!

Is there a large backlog of these chips?

i can hit 3.66Ghz changing the multiplyer from 9 to 11, keeping standard volts and get about 55C max

but normally i keep my cpu at stock

Well G0 stepping is the new versions thats all.

I duno what the people if you can call them that at OCUK have planned but if it's like anyhting of recent then they will sell what they got then get more and as time goes by old stock will run out and the newer stuff will be in!

G0 is hard to of gotten in retail on older stuff, only ES like whats been sat her for past weeks next to me.

E6850 is G0 from word set
