Was just adding books to me 'want to read' list on Goodreads and accidentally read the first into on A dance with dragons

I just read:
Tyrion having just killed his father

:( Does this ruin anything in particular other than this particular act which I assume is towards the end of feast for crows? Hopefully I've not been overly spoiled by that snippet.

Well. It can as you realize what leads up to what eventually and ruins a lot of tension.

Damn. Never mind, I knew the entire plot of book two and I still enjoyed reading it, plus it's only one of the many story lines. Also there's a chance I might forget before I start reading the book. I'll not talk about it again and hopefully I'll forget.

Unfortunatly, you have ruined not just that book, but the preceeding ones, and also the TV version. If there is a film, you just ruined that also.

In fact, you might as well unread all parts of the book, and make a solemn vow never to even read a snippet from those books, as they are totally ruined.

I would say Meh. The following is not a spoiler but keeping it in spoiler tags to keep the context of your question hidden.

Martin is guilty of killing off way bigger characters than Tywin Lannister. The death of Tywin has minor reader emotional impact (compared to other spoilers). The fact Tyrion does it isn't even that surprising, given the back story of the astranged relationship with his father.

If you mouse-over the thread title without actually coming into the thread, it shows you the spoiler even though it's in spoiler tags.

Damn :(

It's great that I finished the books with only one spoiler. I feel liberated, I don't have to worry anymore :)

Never play the Warband mod Napoleonic wars, idiots just love to post spoilers in global. Somebody even said that Tyrion turns into a dragon. Which is ridiculous, but it had me worried for a bit.
