I am trying to cut down on the amount of fizzy drinks i drink by replacing it with flavoured water, such as the Volvic touch of fruit. The calories is about 5 cal in 1.5L, is there any different from drinking pure H20?

Yes I know i should just drink normal water but i found i usually drink a lot more of water if its flavoured. I know its terrible. :(

i was wondering this as well, i have cut fizzy pop out and drink robinsons now, this could be worse, but those flavourd waters are quite nice.

the sugar free stuff is loaded with aspartame and other nasties, the sugary stuff is literally packed with sugar. more than a bottle of coke as i recall

I used to think similair, but then started to drink plain water more often and now its my favourite drink!

Nothing better than a glass of cold filtered water :)

Not enough of a difference to worry about mate..If it means drinking more water, its fine.
Which one? the one full of sugar or the one loaded with sweeteners? Why bother drinking water at all? Might aswell drink coke, diet coke or whatever as they all as bad as each other.

You can't compared these soft drinks to mineral water imho.

There are a few flavoured waters out there that are ok and contain no sweetener or sugar, 'Hint' and 'O' are two of them, can't think of any others.

Well if it were loaded with sugar, it would be loaded with calories too so im assuming he doesnt mean that one.

Im not saying any of these things are better than water...but if someone finds it difficult to drink water, then I think its better that than dehydration or fizzy drinks.

I also dont quite understand how you can say coke and diet coke are as bad as each other.

I'd rather drink normal coke than diet coke mate and that's the truth!

I see where you're coming from but I think you underestimate how bad for you some sweeteners are. Some sites like MP have now removed all but sucralose from their lists because of the health concerns.

Difficult to drink water? Gallons of it yes but that's not exactly a clever thing to do either is it, how hard can it be to drink a litre of water a day? People who need much more and are hitting the gym also get plenty of water from protein shakes and fruit and veg. Plus when you're thirsty in the gym it really isn't hard to drink anything ;) No need to go gulping litre upon litre of the stuff like I used to do lol :)

Constantly peeing and washing away all the vitamins and minerals my diet was providing me!

Me too..diet coke is possibly the most vile beverage ever..but this aint me or you we are talkin about..

The sweeteners and various chemicals are nasty...but we inhale far worse things on a daily basis...and the dangers of dehydration are more worrying to me tbh..

Personally I drink nothing but water now..but i know how hard it was making the transition to that situation.

LOL so true! :) but I didn't mean like that, I meant I'd rather drink a suger laden drink and all the calories than the nasty sweeteners that Diet Coke contains, I believe it's one of the worst, or at least it was.

You've got a point there but we have little control over what we inhale apart from choosing to smoke or not or being in smoky environments. We can control what we put in our mouths. :)

The guy that died running the London Marathon died from over-hydrating. Dehydration can be bad but don't drink too much.

Sorry to hijack thread but is drinking too much water really all that bad for you? I can't really survive on less than 4 pints a day at the very least.
