How bad is Gigabyte support?

I've been having a problem with an on-board USB 3.0 controller, and the reply was "we have tested this and there is no problem", not specifying what "this" was. Then in the next paragraph they told me to re-install my "VGA drivers" which might fix it. VGA Drivers?

Have others had similar experiences?

VGA Drivers = graphics drivers.

Try asking in the Gigabyte thread, the rep should help push along any support tickets.

I found emailing GB support a bit of a pointless exercise, any time I've used it I ended up waiting over 10 days for a reply and was the told to phone the GB UK office....to which they don't provide a phone number for.

Is it the E-Tron controller by any chance (its a POS compared to the NEC industry standard). Try some of the drivers newer drivers available on say station-drivers :) Etron are up to 1.15 or that region now, rather than the poor older drivers.

Their support is the best in the business imo,esp when it comes to repairs, some things I agree get lost in translation if your dealing with gigabyte Taiwan, best to go through gigabyte UK

I needed to RMA a board about a year or so ago ago, logged a fault and took me 9 days to get a response.. Can't remember exactly what went on, if I recall the Taiwanese chaps couldn't string full English sentences together or understand anything I said.. In the end I couldn't even be arsed to even RMA the board and just bought a new ASUS Mobo instead from OcUK as Gigabyte's support was unreal. No idea what it is like these days..

On the flip side apart from that 1 faulty mobo - there boards I find are top quality and I love their designs, BIOS, features, etc.

Fixed a mangled CPU socket, multiple bent pins for free, fixed memory detection issue with out of warranty x58 ud5 for free

They take roughly 2 to 3 days to reply to emails ,no complaints from me

not MB but graphics cards. I had some informational enquiries to them. reply wasn't fast but happy with their answer. it was about the sizes of the cards. Their support actually spent time measuring a couple of cards and sent me the results.

Had a right mess around with a USB 3.0 controller on my board.
They took forever to reply and but eventually got it sorted.
Was a BIOS update that I would have been doing anyway in the end lol
