is it easy enough to fix bent pins ?

I've had bent pins before on a brand new motherboard!

I just used a mechanical pencil (without the lead) and bent them back with the aid of a magnifying glass. It sounds difficult but it really isn't.

The board is still working 3 years on.

Looking at that picture there seems to be 1/2 burnt pins?

how did you do that?

yeah its fairly easy but some can be tricky and the last thing you wanna do is fiddle to much and snap them off, they just fatigue and break without warning

those look badly bent to me,get a very fine sewing needle and a big magnifying glass and tease/pull them back into place

is it a gigabyte board? if so rma it and let them fix it,if its an asus board then they wont touch it

Bought the board on MM, its an asus board, dont have a problem trying to fix it but if the pins snap then its a different story just waiting on member getting back to us. What pins look burnt

two in the middle of the other bent ones look burnt but could be badly bent backwards, its hard to tell from that angle

Do Gigabyte RMA for bent pins? Wondering because of mine being bent, think I've fixed them but can't tell without a new CPU. Have heard wonderful things about Gigabyte but never had to RMA anything to them.

Your pins look really bent, good luck fixing them. Almost snapped one of mine but now it is back to looking almost like new.

yes they do,aslong as you dont mention it was you that did it,i had a completely mangled one repaired, and repaired for free, brian yours will work fine, they dont have to be spot on alignment but if you did wanna rma it they would fix it no probs, why do you think you always see asus boards with bent socket pins on fleebay? its cos they flat refuse to touch them

mb came like that bought from a member on Members Market.

Good news managed to straighten the pins up pretty good :) not good for the nerves or the eyesight lol 2 pins had bent back on themselves, installed some ram connected monitor keyboard and the power cables, got the mb into bios screen and showing cpu stats, just need to test it fully tomorrow doing a windows install run it for a while take it from there fingers crossed :)

does it show the full amount of ram installed in the bios system info page? ifso then lookslike you fixed it,you did well on straightening those pins,it looks easier than it is

thing to do now is not to mess anymore,or else it usually ends in a broken off pin and a point of no return

Glad you got it sorted, makes me more hopeful about mine.

Thanks for the reply Wazza.. :) I don't think they make 3570K's in Costa Rica anymore btw, not sure but I can't find any. Just going to order another 3570K and hope it's a good one. :)
