The computer is used for FPS gaming, web surfing and media storage.
These are my specs:

Q6600 @3.1
3870x2 (waiting for next release to replace)
4GB RAM
24" Dell Monitor
Razor Lahesis & razor keyboard
x2 Barracuda's in RAID0 (500GB)
Hiatchi 1TB

So for xmas I have about £150 to get any upgrades, what would you suggest?

if your not going to s[end money on a new gpu, then you have nothing to upgrade. unless you want a nicer case, or better cooling or quiter cooling. Or more periphrases. Other than that no point spending it.

OCUK seems to have a troll infestation

back on topic :P

I'd say go for a nice keyboard and mouse or set of speakers, then youd have about 50quid to spend getting some more games :)

Nice spec, so perhaps a nice set of speakers (don't know what you have). I got a set of Aego M as a present for my parents for xmas, maybe something along the same lines. A soundcard would also make a nice improvement over onboard.

Hope this helps,

Darkstroke

Thanks guys, I have a 5.1 system so speakers isn't a problem!
I guess I'll have to think of something else for xmas now.

Your graphics cards are the only thing that might need upgrading, but not urgently I'd say. I'm guessing your memory is at least 800Mhz (?) in which case its perfectly fast enough, no worries about the troll's thoughts there. I too would recommend a seperate soundcard, offloading your cpu a bit and giving better sound. But really, all these aren't really necessary. Just save your money, wait and use it as extra on your new graphics cards unless the money is burning a hole in your pocket.

the 'worst' part of the pc is the graphics card (that's what i'd upgrade next) but it's hardly old

don't worry about GTA and Crysis, and you can play anything at high res on that screen :)
