I've been working on sorting out my son's desk, with the traditional Alex units and work top and I've included some IKEA skadis pegboards.
He would like to include some little light bars he had for a few years, very similar to these: Light bars

I've designed a small shelf thing for them to slip into and provide a small shelf on the skadis board but I'm having a slight problem with the printing. One printed fine but the second split along a layer line when inserting the light bar. Shown below as the red line on ths object.

The other image is to show the back of the shelf.

I'd printed as it is shown in the images because I wanted to make sure the pegs that fit in the skadis board had enough strength. But I'm wondering is there's a better way which would give strength to the pegs and the rest of the shape? Any one have any thoughts

It could be because you are right at the edge of the plate.
Have you tried printing across the diagonal section instead?

I actually did rotate it round when I printed it, it's actually wider than the plate so I had to do it on the diagonal, just hadn't positioned it for the screen grabs for here.

that 90 degree corner into an overhang is going to be no fun. supports everywhere.

as it's a series of flat sheets just print each one individually and glue them?

I would print the big top overhang separate and glue it in place after. It should be an easy print then.

Depends on what direction its going to be taking force as well if those hooks are to be bearing any weight, direction of layer lines can make huge differences when it comes to load bearing capabilities..
