A friend of mine is getting rid of his projector which is a BenQ W1400, its a few years old but seems decent enough however Ive not seen it in the flesh as my mate lives in Leeds. Link to spec on Richer Sounds here.
How do I calculate the max screen size I could project with this or any projector for that matter? Like everyone I want wall to wall picture for as little outlay as possible! Joking aside a projector would be just for films, football and some PS4 gaming as I have a good sized tv already so if Im making the jump to a projector I want it to be a good step up in size. Im not fussed about 4k/UHD or 3D so think the best option will be a second hand 1080p probably?
If the BenQ isnt up to much is there anything else I should be looking at? I dont have my room measurements to hand as Im at work but can get them tonight.
Thanks for any advice.
Edited to add that the specs say max screen size of 300 (assume inches) but is that realistic or just randomly made up like a lot of specs for consumer gear?
