how big do SD cards go?

hi guys

sorry if its a silly question but i hope to get my hands one a acer ONE when they show up in stores now it comes with a 8gb ssd and a sd slot to bost the memory so what the biggest sd you can get i have seen 16gb can you get a 32gb? and if not any idear when?

I cannot find any detailed specification page for it yet, it must be because it is such a new product having just announced it. It only says Secure Digital / SD, and does not mention SDHC, especially when talking about extra storage in the second paragraph. For now, we will have to assume it only supports SD cards up to 2GB until there's confirmation on a detailed specs page on the acer site. Considering it's a new product, it should be able to support SDHC, because it could then do a much better job at boosting the storage with increased fast capacity available.

32GB is the limit for SDHC.

They are called SD when below 4GB when formatted with the FAT16 file system.

for 4GB and above (up to 32GB), using the FAT32 file system, they are called SD HC.

thanks thats one of the best answers i have got in a long time was expecting a yes or a no lol

yer ok well i hope it suports sdhc as i have a 16gb card for my slr and love having that much space

but yer if it takes 32gb cards then one added to boost storage and then just one as like an extra drive for music and stuff gives you a nice 72gb of storage so yer think i will go for the ssd one over the 80gb one then if it suports hcsd
