That is to say,

How close to you will you tolerate strangers (or even friends) before you feel uncomfortable or even threatened?

My suspicion is that there is quite a large variation in this. I know that for me the distance is quite large! (I hate cities and public transport) I would be interested in how others feel.

(I am pursuing a longer term theme here, Just for now I am hoping to gather data)

Always on edge if an odd looking character chooses to sit bang behind me on public transport when there are plenty of other spaces, that's about it though.

As far as my riding crop reaches, Any closer & I release the hounds.

If I'm in a crowded elevator they can have at my supple body. If I'm in an empty street apart from me and one other person, them even being a a few metres away is weird.

Depends on the situation to be honest. I also have to invade other peoples personal space a fair bit at work as well so I'm quite tolerable to people being close to me.

People close enough to kiss you when talking to you is too bloody close in my book.
Get away from me you weirdo!

Depends on the person. A close friend can potentially get quite close. Some drunk who's just been sick over himself and wants a fight? About 4 foot at all times.

Depends on person and situation. Personally prefer people to keep a bit of distance unless they are good friends tho.

Don't really have space issues, as in, I really don't care if someone sits next to me on the train or something :p

Now someone parking next to my car after I've circled the carpark to find that space far away from everyone else... Yeah that gets me unless it's a car that's been equally well looked after.

As long as they don't interrupt my boxing stance.

Depends... if they are female and attractive then I don't tend to bother that much :D However if it's a bloke then I don't want him within arms distance.

If I swing a cat by it's tail and you get hit, you sir are too close.

Honestly, most cases couldn't give a toss but if someone has the intent on being close enough to make me look silly they won't be that close any more.
