For future info mate, google is an easy calculator. Type in "cube root of 4" for example and it does it for you. You can put loads of stuff into it. :)
 
4 x 4 metres cubed

I would take this as four separate volumes each of a volume of 4 cubic metres.

I can also see it just might be 4 separate volumes each a perfect cube with a side of 4 metres.

Even more remotely I can see it might be (4 x 4) metres (ie a square ) and the cubed refering to making it into a cube by adding another 5 identical faces. In his case it is a single volume being a perfect cube of side 4m.

In writing "cubic metres" is better and less ambiguous than expressing "m to the power of 3" as metres cubed.

As stated there can be no unambiguous correct answer. That 4 x 4 bit is very odd imho
