How Broken Is My Laptop? =[

Accidently knocked mine off the sofa earlier it didn't fall far but the picture froze, audio stopped and I had to hard reset it, now there is nothing being displayed ever, not even posting, the laptop has a load of LEDs for soft touch buttons and they change colour during boot which it doesn't and it doesn't even seem to read the harddrive, I might have another one to test with but will a dodgy harddrive cause the other problems? I've taken the whole thing apart and put it back together to no avail.

Laptop is a HP Dv9574ea.

HDD shouldn't prevent it from POSTing.

Ah, carp! Good thing the only useful document on there I uploaded to my Google drive earlier. I know they have motherboard problems but I think this is a bit more than what they normally are.

Try reseating the RAM, if its not in the socket right then it can stop them from POSTing. Also be ready to plug it in to a monitor, even if the panel doesn't look damaged the back lights can break in a fall/knock.

The shock could have loosened everything. If you know how I would do a total rebuild.

Tried an external monitor, nothing. Tried each RAM stick in either slot, nothing. Taken it apart completely, 3 times, nothing. Something that I find strange is that the manual suggest that the caps lock and num lock should flash to indicate where the error is but the keyboard doesn't light up at all and the card reader on the side is constantly lit up even though there is nothing in there. I wondering if the motherboard is so broken that its not even able to initialize the keyboard. Quite annoying considering how small a drop it was!

Probably won't help if there is hardware damage, but doesn't hurt to try

remove the battery+mains and hold the power button for 30seconds.
