How can EA have 3 IP's that are the same thing?

As title says, how can EA have three IP's that are basically the same thing?

BFBC series
BF series
Medal of Honour series

BFBC -> Originally Console version of BF now just another version of BF.
BF -> Original version of BF, formally primarily PC but now another multi-format title like BFBC.
Medal of Honour -> Seperate IP which pre-exists BF series (I think?) which Dice now have some involvement with.

It isn't just EA though plenty of publishers like selling you the same thing repeatedly, CoD, CoD Modern Warfare, CoD Black Ops etc.

yea moh was around 3 years before BF

SMS are worst...

go compare
SHIFT
SHIFT2
test drive ferrari
project cars

they all look almost identicle as they blatantly use the same graphics engine in all of them...

BFBC is basically just a Battlefield spinoff.
MOH and BF are two distinct franchises; in PC terms the former was/is standard FPS fare, whereas BF is focussed more on large scale multiplayer.
Also worth noting that the BF series predates EA's ownership of DICE so it's not as though they had two studios launching 'the same' franchises under their banner.

Finally a lot of people forget these days that EA are first and foremost a publisher (and one of the biggest at that), so it isn't that surprising that they should be publishing games from different dev studios that have similar content, it has always been that way.

considering the graphics (in pCARS at least) are a country mile in front of every other racing game and the majority of other games i really dont see that as a problem. the engine was built to last many iterations when it was created (for shift 1?) and it has done that admirably.
also, i dont know about the shift 1 to shift 2 transition but the shift 2 to CARS transition is getting a MASSIVE overhaul on the lighting and clouds

how you can say SMS is worse than the CoD series, which has had absolutely no graphical or physical changes since CoD4, i honestly dont know

I wouldn't mind these 3 games if they weren't so alike. But EA know appealing to the lowest common denominator sells games.

MOH should have been used to compete with the COD series.
BF3 should have followed BF2 a lot closer than it did.
BFBC should have kept its own unique style and flair that the original game showed instead of trying to accommodate fans from BF+COD.
