How can I bypass my HP printer blocking generic ink cartridges?

Does anyone know if there’s a way around my printer blocking my generic inks, please?

I have an HP Officepro 7720 as my work printer and I bought generic inks for it a few months ago.

Finally came to replace them today and it says that the printer knows they’re not genuine HP inks so it’s put a block in place until I buy genuine ones.

Very frustrating because a) I can’t use any other colour printing until I buy more ink b) I have already spent £25 on ink c) it seems totally wrong that HP are allowed to monopolise this.

Is there a way to turn this feature off or make my printer not be so fussy?!
