How Can I Change Default Browser From IE To Firefox

I have Vista Ultimate 64 bit, Office 2007 and Firefox 2.0.0.7 and was having trouble following links in my emails, so I made IE my default browser and the links worked fine.

I then tried to change my default browser to Firefox, but it won't let me now.

I've gone into Firefox and set it to check if it is the default browser, but when restarting, it doesn't give me the option to set it as the default browser.

I've gone into default programs and Firefox isn't listed.

Try uninstalling firefox, deleting its personal data from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Firefox might have a folder here, I've not used it in a few years now so am uncertain.

Then try reinstalling it.

If you load up Firefox and go to Tools>Options there is a section on the main tab called 'System Defaults'. There should be a checkbox to make Firefox check if it is the default browser or not. If the box is checked Firefox should check next time you load it up and ask you if you want to make Firefox your default browser or not.

Or you can click the button and Firefox will run that check there and then. If Firefox isn't your default browser, Firefox should tell you that it isn't and would you like to make it so.

The problem was that I did that and Firefox didn't check it was the default browser when restarting and when I pressed check now, it stated that it wasn't the default, weird.

Anyway, I reinstalled Firefox and it's working now, odd problem, cheers.
