so then I need a pdf plug in for open office for protected pdf files, which plug in is best, do you know?

How can I tell if my PDF files is protected or unprotected?

Many thanks in advance

As far as I know, if a PDF File is protected, you can't edit it. Simple as.

I have just had to sort out my dad who printed his 500 page book then deleted his copy in word.
Then he decided he wants to edit it again
I had to scan it to pdf, then convert it to word / rtf
using a freepdftoword program
would that work for you ?
it got most of the text correct in conversion

I am now getting real problems, okay so I have learned how to edit the pdf file in adobe acrobat professional 7.0, I cut the text and paste new text from a word document. Then unfortunately instead of the text getting aligned into the pdf document, instead it all goes towards the right on one line, how can I get it so the text flows line after line while staying in the pdf document?

I had some software that changed the PDF into text a couple of months ago amd let you copy from there, I'll try and find out what it was as I cant remember atm..

and also 6 threads started by you on the first page of this section bunny? Can we look forward to more of this in here now you are banned from GD?

honestly, a lot of people thought my threads were a laugh. It got rid of a lot of boredom some of you faced in life. I can't see why overclockers would ban me. They can't ban me I didn't do anything wrong other than post interesting threads. I thought it would have been good for their business. more people on their forums equals possible chances they may buy things from the store as their online. As well as I'm an entertainer who also needs some help from time to time. I come and go. Sometimes I am away for weeks not needing to use these forums. I never posted anything illegal. I can't see why they banned me. Don't you think there should be a poll put up asking 'do you think dvdbunny deserves a ban from general discussion' 'are his threads entertaining' 'who likes dvdbunny?' overclockers should look into this.

There are plenty of PDF editors out there! Just one search on google gets me over 52 million results!

Here are just a few:

http://www.nitropdf.com/free/hammer/index.htm
http://www.verypdf.com/pdf-editor/index.html

Many thanks for posting all that, but I already know all that. My questions was if open office can edit pdf files, but more importantly now how do I get the text correctly aligned in adobe professional as I didn't realise that had a pdf editor which I am using now.

I think it's more to do with you posting a steady stream of utter crap. If you step back and look at it from that angle the whole thing starts to make sense..
