As per the title? Alt-Cmd and various combinations of control, fn and enter don't seem to be working. Thanks :).

Eg: I want to do something like alt-(number)

What are you trying to achieve? Accents? Most of that stuff can be entered using Alt+e for example, then typing the character you want under it.

I'm trying to enter the long hyphen (em) without copying and pasting. Can't find it on the character board either. I'd just like to type alt-0151 (or whatever it is)..!

Go to System Preferences > International > Click 'Input Menu' > Then tick keyboard viewer to 'On' and make sure 'Show in menu bar' is ticked.

You'll then see a little Union Jack in the menu bar, click it then click 'Show Keyboard Viewer'.

You'll see a onscreen keyboard, hold down 'Alt' to see the characters you can use.
