How can I find out what remaining warranty I have?

I have an NEC 20WGX2 20.1" Widescreen I'd like to know how much warranty I have left on it? I've had it for 6 - 8 months but god knows how long the shop had it before that?

Website says 3 years for all monitor? Is that tranferable? Or will the honour it with whoever as they have a note of the serial number and know how old it really is? Is there an online place to punch in the S/N and find out? If there is I can't find it

May sound like a daft question but if I'm to get a Dell 24" I need to know

The warranty starts from when you buy it, assuming you bought it brand new. No idea if it's transferable, you'd have to ask NEC or look in the manual.
